Each week I get an email of the lesson plans for Isaac's preschool. I thought it would be fun to record this weeks activities. He doesn't go on Tuesdays due to our homeschool co-op day and this week he has an audiology appointment on Thursday so he'll miss that day. So here is Monday, Wednesday and Friday's schedule.
Monday:
*Language
Color + Noun- Students will use the color blue as a noun modifier. Students will pull small blue toys out of a present and label tem, using a Color + Noun combination.
Blue, Yellow, & Green - Students will help the teacher put toys in a box for Santa. The teacher will give a Color + Noun combination for the students to repeat, identify and put in the box.
Prepositions in & under - Students will review the preposition “in.” Students will put toys in the box, in the cup, and in the backpack and then answer “Where?’ questions. Next, students will practice using the new preposition “under.” Students will go under the table, under the chair. Then, students will put toys under the chair, table, bus, towel, and box.
Language experience (snack):Popcorn
Pre-Literacy - Christmas tree letter sorting - Students will match ornaments with letters to trees with letters. Students will identify each letter (t, M, B) by name and sound and then glue it on the Christmas tree.
Vocabulary - Christmas tree, Lights
Book Nook - Christmas books
*Math Christmas Trees - Students will cut out 3 triangles (little, medium, and big). They will layer and glue the triangles to create a Christmas tree. Objective: identify the shape triangle. Objective: use the color “green” as a noun modifier. Objective: use the sizes “big” and “little” as noun modifiers.
Wednesday:
Language - Students will practice using color + noun combinations using Christmas lights. Students will spin a spinner that has 4 possibilities of light colors. Students will label the light using color + noun combinations and then find the matching color light to place on a graph.
Language experience (snack): Christmas Trees- Students will request an ice cream cone that will be turned upside down to look like a Christmas tree. Next, students will spread green yogurt on the tree and add mini M&Ms to look like ornaments on the tree.
Pre-Literacy Christmas tree hats- Students will request a flattened out cone-shape that will become their Christmas tree. On the tree there are ornaments with letters on them. When the teacher calls out the sound of a letter, students can use the glitter do-a-dot to decorate that ornament. When they’re finished, the cone shape will be folded and formed to look like a Christmas tree.

*Math Candy cane patterning- Students will alternate putting red and white beads on a pipe cleaner to make a candy cane. Objective: use the vocabulary word candy cane. Objective: practice fine motor skills to string beads on a pipe cleaner Objective: make an AB pattern.
Friday
Language
Decorating a Christmas tree-
Students will help the teacher decorate a Christmas tree. They will use the prepositional phrase “on the tree.” Example: “Put the bear on the tree.” “Put the star on the tree.” Language experience (snack) Reindeer cookies

Ornaments-
